The work on the creation of this Unix-Linux operating system began in the year 1991 and by the end of 1994 Linus brought out version 1.0 of the Linux kernel. The most important feature of Unix-Linux operating system is that the development and distribution of the operating system is based on the General Public License. Although the Linux operating system has evolved gradually over the last two decades, it still is not as popular as Microsoft's Windows operating system with small businesses and home users.
